ABOUT THE COMPANY / ROLE

This position sits within a globally recognised medical device leader in pacemaker, ICD, CRT and leadless pacing technologies. The Field Technical Specialist will provide hands-on clinical and technical support to healthcare professionals across NSW and ACT. The technical specialist will support device implant procedures, follow-up with clinics, troubleshooting activities and educational programs, while maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Provide technical support during pacemaker, ICD, CRT and leadless device implantation procedures
  • Support post-operative follow-up clinics and device optimisation activities
  • Troubleshoot device-related issues and provide clinical guidance to healthcare professionals
  • Deliver product training and education programs to clinicians and hospital staff
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of Abbott's Cardiac Rhythm Management portfolio
  • Partner with Territory Managers to support customer needs and territory objectives
  • Assist with product launches and market development initiatives
  • Gather and communicate customer feedback, market intelligence and competitor activity
  • Ensure all administrative, reporting and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Attend internal product and clinical training programs, including certification requirements
  • Participate in the on-call roster associated with the role
  • Build and maintain strong clinical relationships across hospitals and healthcare networks throughout NSW and ACT

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Science, Nursing, Cardiac Technology or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with Cardiac Rhythm Management products
  • Experience supporting pacemaker, ICD and CRT implant procedures
  • Strong clinical troubleshooting and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to work autonomously within a field-based environment
  • Willingness to travel across NSW and ACT, with occasional interstate travel as required
  • Ability to participate in an on-call roster
