Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by developing new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing customers across nationally. As the technical and commercial interface between customers and the business, you will work closely with industrial clients to understand their applications, identify opportunities and deliver practical engineering solutions that create real value. Eastern Automation provides solutions across:
- Hydraulic cylinders
- Hydraulic systems and power units
- Fluid power solutions
- Electrification and actuation technologies
- Custom-engineered industrial systems
- OEM and industrial applications
With the support of a highly experienced internal team, you'll have the autonomy to manage your territory, engage directly with customers and make a visible contribution to the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow a pipeline of new and existing accounts
- Build strong relationships with industrial, OEM and engineering customers
- Conduct technical consultations and identify customer requirements
- Prepare and present technical proposals, quotations and solution recommendations
- Work closely with engineering and applications teams to develop tailored solutions
- Manage sales opportunities from initial engagement through to project completion
- Achieve revenue and profitability objectives
- Represent the business at customer sites, trade events and industry functions
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate comes from a fluid power/hydraulics background with a passion for combining technical expertise with business development, and a background in the design, quote and management of projects (this is a hands on role that requires someone to have hands on experience in projects and engineering).
You may currently be working in:
- Hydraulics, Fluid power or Motion control
- Industrial automation
- Mechanical engineering
- Technical sales or applications engineering
You will bring:
- Proven experience in business development, technical sales or applications engineering
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, components and applications
- The ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness and a track record of converting opportunities into revenue
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to managing a territory
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience will be highly regarded.
