The opportunity
The Sports Projects Officer is a key support role within the Recreation & Leisure team, helping to deliver community sport and recreation projects that enhance local facilities and participation opportunities. The position provides project administration, stakeholder engagement, grant support, budget monitoring and coordination assistance, working closely with sporting clubs, community groups, government agencies and internal Council teams to ensure successful project outcomes. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and administer sport and recreation projects from planning through to delivery
- Support stakeholder engagement and communication with clubs, community groups and project partners
- Prepare, maintain and manage project documentation, records and reporting
- Assist with grant applications, funding administration and acquittals
- Monitor project progress, budgets and outcomes while supporting the wider Sport & Recreation team
What You'll Need To Succeed
- Relevant qualification in sport and recreation, project administration, community development or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused approach
- Experience supporting projects, including administration, coordination and reporting
- Knowledge of community sport and recreation trends, needs and stakeholder expectations
- Well developed organisational, research and relationship building skills

Pre-Employment Requirements
