The Role

We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Security Manager to support critical Defence ICT capabilities within an integrated program office environment. This ACT-based onsite role will oversee the security posture of key systems, supporting capability sustainment, operational outcomes and ongoing system authorisation. The successful candidate will monitor and maintain system security, investigate and manage security incidents, provide security risk and compliance advice, and maintain security accreditation and governance documentation. The role works closely with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and support providers to ensure cyber security risks are effectively managed across the capability lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Information Technology Security Manager for Defence ICT capabilities within an integrated program office environment.
  • Monitor, maintain and report on system security posture, risks, compliance matters and security controls. Investigate, manage and support the resolution of cyber security incidents and system security issues.
  • Provide trusted security risk, compliance and governance advice to system owners, project teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain security accreditation, assessment, authorisation and governance documentation.
  • Support capability sustainment and operational outcomes through practical cyber security guidance.
  • Engage with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and support providers to manage cyber security risks.
  • Ensure security activities remain aligned with Defence security requirements, program objectives and Capability Manager priorities.
  • Support continuous improvement of security practices, documentation and system authorisation outcomes.
  • About You
  • You will bring formal qualifications in Information Security, Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • You have demonstrated experience performing ITSM duties within Defence, government or a complex enterprise ICT environment.
  • You have a strong understanding of the Australian Government Information Security Manual, Defence Security Principles
  • Framework and associated cyber security policies.
  • You have experience supporting system security accreditation, assessment and authorisation activities, including security
  • documentation and risk assessments.
  • You bring experience administering, supporting or governing Mobile Device Management solutions, including cloud-hosted MDM
  • environments and security controls for mobile platforms.
  • You can provide cyber security advice and support to business, operational and technical stakeholders.
  • You are an Australian citizen and hold, a current AGSVA NV1 security clearance.

Requirements

Experience supporting Defence aviation capabilities or working within an aviation-related environment.

  • ·Experience providing cyber security support and advice to Capability Management representatives and Defence user communities.
  • ·Experience maintaining awareness of Defence and Commonwealth cyber security policy changes and implementing practical security improvements.
  • ·Exposure to cloud-hosted environments, Software-as-a-Service platforms and mobile workforce technologies.
  • ·Experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities.
  • ·Knowledge of contemporary mobile security architectures, endpoint management and secure mobility solutions within Defence or Government environments.
