Role Description
The Social Media and Website Volunteer is a part-time, hybrid role based in Canberra. This position involves managing and updating Pegasus’ social media channels with engaging content that reflects programs, events, and community stories. The volunteer will assist in maintaining the website, including updating pages, posting news and blog content, and ensuring information is accurate and accessible. Day-to-day tasks include creating posts, sourcing images and stories, scheduling content, monitoring engagement, and responding to basic queries or comments. The role also supports digital campaigns, helps promote fundraising activities, and collaborates with staff and volunteers to gather content that highlights Pegasus’ impact.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation, with the ability to produce engaging and inclusive content.
- Knowledge of Digital Marketing and Marketing principles to support campaigns, promotions, and community outreach.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear writing and the ability to adapt messages for different audiences and platforms.
- Basic familiarity with website content management systems and image/video editing tools is beneficial.
- Interest in disability inclusion, community services, or equine-assisted programs, and willingness to learn about Pegasus’ mission.
- Organised, reliable, and comfortable working on-site within a volunteer team environment.
