About the Client
Our client is a well-established Australian services organisation backed by a leading private equity investor that's entering an exciting period of growth and transformation as they look to scale the business through both organic and inorganic growth.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial control function and take ownership of financial reporting, month-end, treasury, compliance, audit, governance, and statutory reporting while leading a small finance team. In this role you'll play a key role in improving financial processes, strengthening controls, implementing automation, and helping modernise the finance function through the use of technology and AI.
You'll also work closely with the CFO across budgeting, cash flow forecasting, board reporting, commercial analysis, and strategic initiatives, including supporting future intended M&A activity. This is a highly visible role that offers the opportunity to influence how finance supports the wider business while helping build a best-in-class finance function and leading a small team.
About You
You will be CA or CPA qualified with a strong technical accounting background, ideally beginning your career within Audit before moving into a commercial finance environment.
You may already be operating as a Financial Controller or be an ambitious Finance Manager ready to take the next step. More importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys improving processes, beings hands on and taking ownership, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to drive better outcomes.
Experience working within a private equity-backed, or fast-paced commercial environment would be advantageous but is not essential. Exposure to finance transformation, systems improvements and a desire to do more with AI will be highly regarded.
