We’re thrilled to announce the opening for National Account Manager, National Key Independents. The National Account Manager is accountable for the performance across the full portfolio of MHA brands within their nominated accounts and associated businesses, wholesalers, Independent “Super” Specialist by way of national and regional contract negotiations.

Their core function is to ensure attainment of budgeted sales & revenue, whilst driving brand equity, selective distribution and market positioning through effective implementation of agreed sales and marketing programmes.The role facilitates, supports, and guides the efforts of the wider sales function teams towards the implementation of agreed brand strategies and sales action plans amongst the Independent Specialist channel, such that the highest standards of achievement in sales, price vision management, merchandising, promotions and other trade related activities are attained - with the key objectives being to achieve volume, revenue, NSI, profit and brand share targets.

Job Responsibilities

How you will contribute…

Channel & Account Management

  • Continuous implementation of agreed strategies derived from the Brand Plans. Through carefully and comprehensively formulated sales actions, ensure maximum focus on core brands. Priorities will be in the disciplines of pricing, distribution, trade stock levels, trade merchandising, promotions and other volume-generating activities
  • Maximize retail pricing across all core brands in relation to agreed objectives and competitors’ pricing strategies
  • Ensure the most appropriate coverage of all current and potential Key Accounts, and examine/recommend ways and means of broadening distribution, as well as developing new sales opportunities
  • Work together with your line manager to improve the effectiveness of promotions and to maximise operational efficiencies
  • In consultation with the channel team review business opportunities for core and innovation brands with a view to gaining market share through the development of new points of distribution, such that specific recommendations and action plans
  • Accelerate the adoption of digital technologies, platforms, and touchpoints to deliver a competitive advantage across all relevant categories. As digital impacts every point in the consumer path-to-purchase, this ambition is increasingly extending to shopper marketing channels, including eCommerce.

Sales Management Information

  • Maintain accurate sales management information systems including up to date records, trading terms, FTT and statistics.
  • Conduct the requisite analysis of such data on a regular basis. Constant evaluation of channel data, call cycles and frequency, and other related information to ensure that the Company has the most professional and best-managed approach towards account management in order to gain a competitive advantage for our brands

Relationship Management

  • Ensure effective and smooth relationships are maintained with key customers in order to optimize operational effectiveness, business performance and goodwill.
  • Ensure excellent relationships with main decision-makers in the national head offices, State offices, and individual outlets of Key Account customers.

Education

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Champagne/Wines/Spirit industry
  • Strong understanding of the Off-Premise/Specialists/Wholesale business
  • Thorough understanding of the Australian Liquor Industry
  • Good networking, influencing and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of liquor consumption trends, habits and preferences of consumers in Australia
  • High level of commercial awareness and an instinct for exploiting profit opportunities
  • Strong Presentation Skills and ability to adjust message based on audience necessary.
  • Experience in conducting training sessions as required
  • Excellent proven sales skills
  • Appreciation of luxury goods market requirements
  • Available to travel nationally complete the requirements of the role
