Calf Rearer

Brief Description

Union Pastoral Co as part of The Midfield Group is one of Australia's largest 100% family-owned companies, proudly producing top quality dairy products. Based in the Warrnambool, Victoria, we are now looking for a Calf Rearer to assist with day-to-day farm management.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and feed milk to calves in accordance with farm feeding protocols
• Monitor calf health, behaviour, and appetite daily
• Identify and treat sick calves in line with farm treatment protocols
• Mix and administer electrolytes and medications as directed
• Clean and sanitise feeding equipment, milk preparation areas, and calf sheds
• Maintain clean, dry bedding and high standards of hygiene
• Record daily calf numbers, treatments, and health observations
• Assist with weighing, drafting, tagging, and moving calves
• Ensure biosecurity and animal welfare standards are always maintained
• Work closely with the Calf Rearing Manager and wider farm team

Skills & Experiences

• Previous experience feeding and rearing dairy calves is essential
• Sound understanding of calf health, nutrition, and welfare
• Ability to identify early signs of illness
• Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Good communication and record-keeping skills
• Current driver's licence essential
• Ability to work weekends on a roster
