Great opportunity to work with a well-established and reputable civil contractor on projects such as civil, demolition, remedial, rehabilitation, excavation, crushing, recycling etc.
Our client is a well-established and market leading civil contractor, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join their growing business.
Our client provides their services across a number of industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, power stations, transport infrastructure, environmental etc. and you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of a number of challenging projects.
Types of projects include access roads, demolition, excavation, retention, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation, recycling, crushing, piling, foundations etc.
The project works will primarily be of a civil nature with typical values from $2.5 to $10m but can go up to $40m+. Personnel could be based from Newcastle to Muswellbrook and would look to line up projects depending on where people live. Current project pipeline is West Newcastle, to Singleton to Muswellbrook.
Years of experience
3-10 years +
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Working on tenders
- Planning and scheduling of construction activities
- Management of site project teams safely
- Quality Assurance, Cost and Time Management
- Preparation of management reports
- Resolving site issues in a timely manner
- Liaising with key clients and stakeholders
- Coordinating internal and external resources
Qualifications and Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
- 5 – 10+ years’ management experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $2m to $40m+
- Project management qualifications will be advantageous
- Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach
- Proven ability to effectively lead and delegate
- Effective problem solving abilities
- Ability to resolve conflict and manage client expectations
- High level of organisation and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
