About The Role
Join Pace Farm as a Maintenance Fitter and play a vital role in keeping our farming operations running at their best. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you’ll be based at our Kinglake West site (1 hour out of the northern suburbs of Melbourne), you'll work Monday to Friday in a hands-on role maintaining and repairing plant and equipment across our farming operations. You'll help minimise downtime, drive preventative maintenance initiatives and support safe, efficient operations, making a real impact every day while working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
What You’ll Do
- Performing preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment
- Attending breakdowns, troubleshooting faults, and returning machinery to service quickly
- Conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurring equipment issues
- Maintaining and repairing conveyors, compressors, pumps, refrigeration and processing equipment
- Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated systems
- Maintaining spare parts inventory and supporting cost control
- Participating in production, safety, and reliability meetings
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, HACCP, GMP and quality standards
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, manuals, and documentation
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors and suppliers
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to team development

What We’re Looking For
- Trade qualification (Fitter or equivalent)
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing or food processing environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience with plant equipment such as conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearmotors and refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of maintenance planning and continuous improvement practices
- Experience working with HACCP, GMP or quality systems (highly regarded)
- Welding experience (MIG/TIG/ARC) is advantageous
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Commitment to workplace health, safety, and compliance
