About The Position
This position is responsible for supporting a broad spectrum of digital communications across the organisation as well as to key stakeholders, members of the City of Greater Geraldton and wider community. It will heavily assist in the maintenance and development of the City’s online presence including existing websites, online communications and various social media platforms. This position assists in the City’s online marketing activity which aims to promote a professional and corporate image to internal and external customers and ensures consistent messaging and branding. Essential to the position is supporting the Communications team in delivering a range of different written, design and online communications.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate and develop various City websites and contribute to the revision and writing of web content to ensure information is dynamic and current.
- Develop search engine optimisation (SEO), navigation and content strategies to increase traffic and interaction.
- Implement ongoing education and promotional strategies to encourage greater and more effective use of City websites.

Position Requirements
Ideally the successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in Digital Media, Communications and/or Media. However, as a minimum, applicants will possess comprehensive digital communications experience in an online communications role including experience in the management of various social media platforms and online CMS systems.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration And Benefits
A salary starting from $89,127 per annum or $45.1046 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
