We're looking for an experienced, commercially driven
Used Equipment Business Manager to build and grow our used equipment capability across Australia. This is not a traditional asset disposal role. This is a unique opportunity to combine sales, sourcing, negotiation and market development to create a profitable used equipment function supporting Rental Solutions, Power Generation, Operations and Sales teams nationally.
About The Role
As the Used Equipment Business Manager, you will be responsible for both the sale of existing used equipment assets and the procurement of used equipment into the business.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external industry networks to identify opportunities, source equipment, assess asset value, negotiate transactions and maximise revenue and margin.
This role operates across the entire business and will play a critical role in supporting customer trade-ins, equipment sourcing, fleet optimisation and future growth opportunities. Approximately 60% of the role will focus on selling existing used equipment assets, with 40% focused on sourcing and acquiring equipment for resale, rental, refurbishment or parts recovery. This role can be based in either Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and execute a national used equipment strategy
- Build and manage a pipeline of used equipment sales opportunities
- Source used equipment from customers, dealer networks, auctions and industry contacts
- Support trade-in opportunities and provide asset valuations
- Identify opportunities to refurbish, re-rent, resell or repurpose equipment
- Build strong relationships with CAT dealers, customers, auction houses and industry contacts
- Work with Sales, Rental Solutions, Operations and Product Support teams to deliver commercial solutions
- Monitor market trends, asset values and equipment demand
- Manage opportunities through Salesforce and established sales processes
- Drive profitability through strong commercial decision-making and negotiation
What We're Looking For
- Proven success in equipment sales, used equipment, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, mining, rental, power generation or a related industry
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and generate revenue
- Experience building and maintaining customer and industry networks
- A proactive, self-driven and results-focused approach
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capability
- Ability to assess commercial opportunities and make sound business decisions
Highly Regarded
- Exposure to generators, power generation equipment or CAT products
- Used equipment sourcing, procurement or asset remarketing experience
- Experience with trade-ins, fleet optimisation or asset valuation
- Existing networks across mining, earthmoving, industrial equipment or dealer environments
- Salesforce or CRM experience
