About The Team

Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.

The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.

About The Opportunity

This is a highly specialised role where no two weeks are the same. You'll split your time between travelling across Australia operating the AK Car track recording vehicle and working behind the scenes maintaining the systems, data, and technology that keep it running. If you enjoy combining IT, engineering systems, data analysis and practical field work, this is an opportunity to develop expertise in a niche and rewarding environment.

• Operate specialised track recording technology across the national rail network.
• Maintain and support onboard IT systems, hardware, software and databases.
• Analyse, manage and distribute track condition data that informs critical maintenance decisions.

What do we want from you?

We're looking for someone with strong technical capability, excellent problem-solving skills and an interest in rail systems and technology. You'll be comfortable working independently, planning field activities, and travelling regularly as part of a close-knit team.

Ideally, You'll Have

• Experience supporting IT systems, networks, servers or specialised technical equipment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage technical data.
• Knowledge of rail infrastructure, signalling or track systems (or the ability to quickly develop this expertise).
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in operational environments.
• Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
