Senior Systems Engineer

Idea 11 is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with strong networking and firewall management skills to join our Managed Services team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, taking ownership of customer outcomes, and building their expertise across networks, security and infrastructure.

You'll operate as a key technical escalation point, specialising in networks and firewalls, working closely with senior engineers to resolve complex issues and deliver high-quality outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Resolving issues relating to networks, firewalls and platform issues
• Owning tickets through to resolution while maintaining strong customer communication
• Participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Performing scheduled maintenance and proactive system improvements
• Working directly with customers on technical issues and escalations
• Contributing to projects, migrations, and platform improvements
• Maintaining technical documentation and knowledge base articles
• Assisting with technical reviews and operational improvement initiatives

Our Core Technology Stack

• Networking (Cisco/Meraki)
• Firewalls (Palo Alto and Fortinet)
• Windows Operating Systems
• Hypervisors (VMware / Hyper-V)

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in a networking/infrastructure role
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting IT environments
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A proactive mindset focused on ownership and continuous improvement

While certifications are not mandatory, you'll stand out if you hold (or are actively pursuing) certifications in Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cisco.
