We're partnering with a leading specialist travel company to find a passionate and sales-driven Japan Travel Specialist. If you have experience in wholesale or retail travel, enjoy building relationships, and love creating unforgettable travel experiences, this could be the perfect next step.
Whether your background is in wholesale reservations, FIT travel or retail consulting, this role offers the opportunity to combine your destination knowledge with a consultative sales approach, helping clients plan exceptional, tailor-made holidays throughout Japan.
The Role
As a Japan Travel Specialist, you'll work closely with clients to design personalised, high-value holidays throughout Japan. You'll take the time to understand each traveller's interests, preferences and travel style before creating unique itineraries that exceed expectations.
From the initial enquiry through to booking, you'll manage the sales journey while working alongside a dedicated operations team to ensure every holiday is delivered seamlessly.
Salary Range: $60,000–$65,000 + Super + Uncapped Commission
Realistic OTE: $70,000–$90,000 depending on experience and performance.
What Success Looks Like
- Consult with clients to understand their travel goals and recommend tailored Japan itineraries.
- Create bespoke FIT holidays that reflect each client's interests, budget and travel style.
- Build strong customer relationships and confidently convert enquiries into bookings.
- Manage your sales pipeline while delivering exceptional customer service at every stage.
- Work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure every booking is accurate and delivered to the highest standard.
- Continue developing your destination knowledge and stay up to date with new experiences across Japan.
The ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who combines a genuine passion for travel with a proactive sales approach.

- Experience in wholesale travel, retail travel, tailor-made FIT travel or travel sales.
- A passion for Japan and an enthusiasm for sharing that knowledge with clients.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence in uncovering customer needs and recommending the right travel experiences.
- Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
- A proactive sales mindset with the drive to convert opportunities, achieve targets, and build a successful career in travel sales.
