Our role

We are looking for an experienced, people-focused Learning & Development Lead to join our collaborative People & Culture team, based in Brisbane. Working approximately 30 hours a week (with Monday being an essential in-office workday) this is a true opportunity for someone wanting to take the lead in the refresh of our learning strategy and offerings.

Reporting to the People & Culture Director, you'll shape and deliver the firm's learning and development strategy, with the autonomy and scope to re-design signature programs, partner with partners and senior leaders across the firm, and build capability at every level.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement the firm's learning strategy, aligned to the People Strategy and commercial drivers
  • Refresh and facilitate our flagship leadership programs, including our Pathways to Partnership
  • Manage and co-facilitate the end-to-end induction program, enhancing the experience for all new starters
  • Lead the development and delivery of the Graduate Development Program
  • Partner with stakeholders to conduct learning needs analysis and tailor development plans at individual, practice group and firm level
  • Drive best practice digital and hybrid learning, creating e-learning content and maximising the LMS
  • Plan and manage the annual legal education program, including CLE sessions, the professional legal training calendar and CPD compliance
  • Maintain relationships with key external facilitators and consultants

About you

The HopgoodGanim People & Culture team is valued by the partnership for its future focus and the real impact it delivers while working directly with the business.

You will be comfortable operating as both a strategic and hands-on L&D professional with demonstrated experience within a professional services environment, ideally legal, and possess:

  • Qualifications in learning, development, training or a related field
  • Proven experience leading L&D strategy and frameworks, from scoping through to embedding
  • Strong facilitation experience and capability across all levels, from graduates to partners
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary learning and development practices, including digital and hybrid learning
  • High-level business partnering and communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to manage and deliver multiple initiatives and priorities to key deadlines
  • LSI accreditation (highly desirable) and Hogan accreditation (desirable)
