About The Role
As a Children’s Ministry Assistant this is your opportunity to inspire and nurture children’s spiritual growth by delivering engaging Sunday School and discipleship programs within a welcoming faith community.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent part-time position (10.5 hours per week) based in Shepparton, VIC, with workdays including Sundays to support the delivery of children’s ministry and worship programs.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Ensure all children’s ministry activities are delivered in line with child safety standards, relevant legislation, Salvation Army policies, and required approvals.
- Plan and deliver engaging children’s ministry programs that support spiritual growth and are tailored to different developmental stages.
- Develop and facilitate outreach activities, including after-school and community-based programs, to connect with and nurture children both within and beyond the Corps.
- Recruit, lead, and support a team of volunteers, ensuring all volunteers maintain current registrations and required safety clearances.
- Collaborate with The Salvation Army Victoria Children’s Ministry team to access resources, guidance, and best-practice approaches.
- Maintain accurate administration, records, and privacy practices in accordance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
What You Will Bring
- Certificate IV level in ministry or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills is desirable.
- It is highly desirable to be an active member of The Salvation Army, preferably as a soldier.
- A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is required
- Drivers Licence
- Employee Working with Children Check
