CRU is seeking an Asset Analyst to lead and deliver high-quality analysis within Iron Ore Costs & Emissions. This role combines asset-level modelling, thought leadership, and direct client engagement to shape market-leading insights and support CRU’s commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop robust analysis across the services within the remit.
- Contribute perspectives that enhance CRU’s wider content and client engagement.
- Build a strong industry profile as a trusted commodity analyst.
- Support Service Leads in identifying new business opportunities.
- Support client meetings, demos, and webinars.
- Build and maintain relationships with contacts across commodity accounts and the wider industry.
- Respond to client and internal requests for data and answers related to asset-level modelling.
- Contribute to analysis and asset modelling for the relevant services.
- Conduct primary and secondary research, including engaging with market, industry, and institutional contacts.
- Build deep understanding of the commodity sector and ensure CRU data remains accurate and current.
- Organise and update data series that form part of customer deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution.
- Further education certification in a subject relevant to commodity research, such as geology, economics, or engineering.
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in mining and metals commodity research, with direct industry experience highly advantageous.
- Strong ability to gather and critically analyse both soft and hard data to identify trends, drivers, and insights.
- Highly numerate, with the ability to interpret, manipulate, and manage large data sets.
- Solid understanding of mathematical concepts and processes.
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within a global analysis team.
- Ability to balance personal initiative with team-based delivery.
- Confident communicator with the stature to earn trust and respect from clients and industry participants across multiple channels.
