The Opportunity
As a Roving Maintenance Officer , you will provide maintenance support and leave coverage across Aeralife's Victorian residences. Reporting to the Residence Manager and supported by the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment and plant to ensure our homes remain safe, functional and welcoming environments for residents, families and staff.
Your role will balance preventative maintenance, compliance activities, auditing, repairs and contractor coordination while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the region.

Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide maintenance support and leave coverage across Victorian residences
- Conduct site audits, risk assessments and quality inspections
- Complete painting, repairs and general maintenance works
- Monitor and maintain fire safety systems and compliance requirements
- Test and tag electrical equipment in accordance with legislation
- Assist with resident room set-up and presentation
- Maintain asset registers, equipment records and maintenance schedules
- Support contractor inductions and monitor contractor compliance
- Obtain maintenance quotations and coordinate approved works
- Review asbestos registers and legislative compliance requirements
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with WHS legislation
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across facilities and assets
- Ensure tools, equipment and chemicals are safely managed at all times
About You
You are a proactive maintenance professional who enjoys working independently while building strong relationships with operational teams. You take pride in your workmanship, have a strong safety mindset and are committed to creating environments that enhance residents' quality of life.
To Be Successful, You Will Have
- Demonstrated maintenance or facilities experience
- Building, carpentry, painting or trade-related qualifications (desirable)
- Experience using a wide range of maintenance tools and equipment
- Knowledge of WHS requirements and building compliance
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy and experience using maintenance systems
- Ability to travel throughout Victoria
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Full Australian working rights
- COVID-19 vaccination status (highly recommended)
