About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Technical Advisor to join our Midwest Region team in Geraldton on a permanent basis.

In this specialist role, you will provide technical leadership and expert advice to support the operation, maintenance, compliance and improvement of Water Corporation’s civil assets, including water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure. Working closely with operational teams, contractors and project stakeholders, you will investigate complex asset issues, undertake condition assessments, support project delivery, and help ensure critical infrastructure remains safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

What You Can Expect With This Role

• Providing specialist civil engineering advice and support for the operation, maintenance and improvement of water, wastewater and drainage assets.
• Investigating complex asset faults and performance issues, identifying causes and recommending practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Conducting asset inspections, condition assessments and performance reviews to help prioritise maintenance, refurbishment and renewal activities.
• Supporting the delivery of capital and operational projects by reviewing designs, scopes, specifications and commissioning activities.
• Collaborating with operational teams, planners, contractors and stakeholders to ensure assets remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Coaching and mentoring operational staff, sharing technical expertise and contributing to continuous improvement across the region.

Your Skills And Experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, or a relevant tertiary qualification/trade background with significant technical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in the operation, maintenance and asset management of water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure.
• Strong ability to analyse complex technical issues, identify risks and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Proven experience undertaking asset condition assessments and supporting infrastructure renewal and improvement programs.
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational and technical reporting skills, with experience interpreting engineering drawings, preparing scopes of work and managing competing priorities.
