Who we’re looking for

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Underground Mine Technician to join our close-knit Production team at Cadia. As a Production Road Crew Operator, you'll play a critical role in maintaining underground roadways and ensuring safe access for personnel and equipment across the mine. Working as part of a collaborative crew, you'll operate underground mobile equipment and contribute to road maintenance and site-wide production activities.

Key deliverables of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate underground production and road maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain haul roads, intersections, passing bays, and work areas to required standards
  • Assist with scaling, bogging, clean-up, and general underground services activities
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and report equipment defects
  • Identify hazards and apply critical controls to manage risk
  • Participate in safe production meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and support a positive safety culture
  • Specific tasks as directed by the Underground Shift Supervisor.

In addition, you will also ideally have

  • Proven track record in promoting and managing safety in the workplace
  • Willingness to take ownership of issues associated with your role
  • Experience operating underground mobile equipment such as integrated tool carriers
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Manual C Class Driver's License and Working at Heights ticket is required
