We are seeking an experienced Clinical Team Leader - Youth Mental Health to provide clinical and operational leadership within an early intervention mental health service supporting young people and their families.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, provide clinical guidance and supervision, and play a key role in ensuring young people receive safe, effective, and person-centred support.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, you will provide day-to-day clinical leadership and operational oversight to a youth mental health team. You will support staff development, strengthen service delivery, and ensure the delivery of best-practice therapeutic interventions aligned with contemporary youth mental health approaches.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain a small clinical caseload, providing assessment, therapeutic intervention, treatment planning, and support to young people experiencing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and practice guidance to a multidisciplinary team.
• Support the delivery of evidence-based, person-centred mental health interventions for young people and their families.
• Provide clinical oversight of assessments, risk management, safety planning, and treatment planning.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and client outcomes.
• Support staff performance, development planning, training, and professional growth.
• Monitor service outcomes, workforce performance, and operational requirements.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and workforce development activities.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high-quality clinical practice.
• Manage complex clinical presentations, including young people experiencing multiple and co-occurring challenges.

About You

You are an experienced mental health professional with strong clinical leadership capability and a passion for supporting young people. You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision and leadership within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience working in youth mental health settings.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and family-inclusive practice.
• Experience completing comprehensive assessments, clinical formulations, risk assessments, and treatment planning.
• The ability to support teams through complex clinical situations with confidence and sound judgement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people, families, staff, and external stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

You will hold:

• A tertiary qualification in a relevant mental health discipline, such as:
• Psychology
• Social Work
• Occupational Therapy
• Mental Health Nursing
• Equivalent recognised mental health qualification
• Current professional registration with AHPRA where applicable,or with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• A current Victorian Driver's Licence.

Desirable qualifications include:

• Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Clinical Practice, or a related field.
• Additional skills or qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) practice.
