We are seeking a creative, charismatic and highly skilled Mixologist to join Andaz Gold Coast and help shape a beverage experience that feels fresh, local and unmistakably Andaz.

This role is for someone who sees the bar as a stage for craft, connection and discovery. Someone who understands that an exceptional cocktail begins with technique, but becomes memorable through personality, theatre and a genuine sense of place.

The opportunity

As Mixologist, you will create distinctive beverage experiences across Andaz Gold Coast.

You will develop signature cocktails, champion local ingredients and bring curiosity to every serve. From refining classics to experimenting with unexpected flavours, you will help define the identity of our bars while inspiring both guests and colleagues.

You will also play an important role in beverage education, menu development and maintaining consistently high standards across service.

What You Will Do

• Create and serve classic, contemporary and signature cocktails to an exceptional standard.
• Develop seasonal beverage menus inspired by local produce, culture and the character of the Gold Coast.
• Experiment with ingredients, techniques, garnishes and presentation to create original and memorable drinks.
• Deliver warm, engaging and unscripted guest experiences.
• Share the story behind each drink with confidence and authenticity.
• Provide thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Support beverage tastings, activations, events and special experiences.
• Maintain strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages and emerging beverage trends.
• Mentor and support bartending colleagues through training, tastings and product education.
• Maintain an organised, clean and well-stocked bar.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, inventory and cost management.
• Ensure consistency in recipes, presentation and service standards.
• Follow responsible service of alcohol, food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Work closely with Food and Beverage leadership to identify new ideas and revenue opportunities.

Qualifications

About you

You are confident without being rehearsed. Curious without losing precision. You bring energy to the room and take pride in creating drinks that feel considered, balanced and personal.

You will bring:

• Proven experience as a mixologist, senior bartender or cocktail bartender.
• Strong technical knowledge of spirits, cocktails and beverage preparation.
• A creative approach to flavour, presentation and menu development.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Confidence delivering tastings, training and beverage storytelling.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.
• An understanding of stock control, beverage costs and operational efficiency.
• The ability to remain composed and engaging in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative, reliable and generous approach.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.

Experience within a luxury hotel, premium cocktail bar, restaurant or high-volume venue will be highly regarded.
