School-Based Engineering (Fitter) Apprenticeship
This is a unique opportunity to kick-start your trade career while completing your SACE at school. Working two days per week (Wednesday and Friday), you will gain hands-on experience alongside highly experienced tradespeople, learn from industry experts and develop practical skills in a modern manufacturing environment.
Your trade training will contribute towards your SACE, allowing you to continue your education while building a nationally recognised qualification and getting a head start on your future career.
About You
We're looking for enthusiastic students who are ready to learn, contribute and build a career in the mechanical engineering trade. Ideally, you will have:
- Commenced a Certificate II in Engineering (mechanical or fabrication)
- Completed work experience in an electrical trade, engineering or manufacturing environment
- An interest in technology, machinery and how things work
- A sound level of literacy and numeracy and the ability to apply these skills in a practical environment
- Demonstrated commitment through school, sport, part-time work, volunteering or community involvement
- Strong attendance record, reliability and a positive attitude towards learning
- A willingness to embrace new challenges and work safely as part of a team
Most importantly, you are motivated to learn, take initiative and develop the skills needed for a successful trade career.
As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment which includes functional, audiometric, drug and alcohol testing.
