An opportunity in an important regional industry

Dried Fruits Australia, the Australian dried grape industry’s peak body, is seeking an Industry Development Officer (IDO) and Production Systems Trial Officer on a part-time basis to support our current IDO.

Work hours may vary due to seasonal demands, although may be initially in the range of 20-25 hours/week, with the potential for an increase in workload in the coming 12 months.

The role will also provide support for a range of DFA activities. These activities include servicing of growers and processors, on-farm trials, R&D project management, field days/farm walks, plant biosecurity.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Work to a detailed annual work plan, with clear objectives, activities and expected outputs and outcomes, that reflect industry priorities
  • Monitor research relating to dried grape production, particularly from the production systems trial, best practice management and emerging technologies and help with active communication through DFA’s communication channels
  • Maintain networks with researchers and other organisations and work collaboratively in helping present information at workshops and field walks
  • Provide support for relevant DFA projects
  • Work closely with other staff, project reference groups, Hort Innovation and other industry stakeholders as required

A current Australian driver’s licence and own vehicle (reimbursement for work-related usage) are essential.
