I’m currently partnering with a well-established Sydney-based construction company specialising in Class 2 residential developments, to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their growing team.

This is an office-based opportunity for an Estimator with strong Class 2 residential experience who is looking to take ownership of the estimating function and work across a strong pipeline of upcoming projects.

The Role

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tenders for Class 2 residential projects
• Review construction drawings, specifications and documentation
• Conduct quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis
• Source and obtain competitive subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Prepare tender submissions, budgets and cost plans
• Analyse project costs, variations and potential commercial risks
• Work closely with Project Managers, Contract Administrators and the wider construction team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist with procurement and value engineering where required
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive and delivered within required timeframes

About You

• 5+ years’ experience as an Estimator within the Australian construction industry
• Strong Class 2 residential / apartment construction experience
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, materials and subcontractor pricing
• Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural and services drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is highly regarded
