About The Role

We are hiring a Kids STEM Teacher to deliver hands-on Arduino, coding, electronics and robotics classes for children aged 8 to 12 in Melbourne.

This is a part-time contractor role for someone who enjoys teaching children and can explain technical ideas in a simple, practical and engaging way.

Work arrangement

  • Contractor role paid at AUD $30 to $35 per hour.
  • Part-time schedule, 2 to 3 days per week.
  • Approximately 6 to 8 teaching hours per week, with potential for additional hours based on class demand.
  • In-person classes in Melbourne, Victoria.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Arduino, coding, electronics, robotics and STEM activities to children aged 8 to 12.
  • Prepare simple project-based lessons and classroom activities.
  • Create a safe, positive and age-appropriate learning environment.
  • Keep students engaged through practical demonstrations and hands-on projects.
  • Communicate student progress and classroom feedback when required.
  • Adjust lessons based on student age, ability and class performance.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or coaching children.
  • Knowledge of Arduino, coding, robotics, electronics or STEM education.
  • Patient, energetic and clear communication style.
  • Reliable availability for 2 to 3 days per week.
  • Ability to work as a contractor.

Nice to have

  • Experience teaching students aged 8 to 12.
  • Experience preparing project-based technology lessons.
  • Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.

Pay

AUD $30 to $35 per hour.
