We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to lead the architecture, delivery and optimisation of enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure.

Mandatory Skills

• SQL | Python | PySpark

• Azure Data Factory (ADF)

• Azure Synapse Analytics

• Delta Lake & Data Lakehouse

• Data Modelling & Data Warehousing

• Microsoft Fabric

• Cloud-Native Data Architecture

• CI/CD & DevOps

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end enterprise data platform delivery

• Define data platform strategy and roadmap

• Architect scalable pipelines, warehouses and lakehouse solutions

• Provide technical leadership through design and code reviews

• Drive Microsoft Fabric, APIs and Azure Functions adoption

• Optimise platform performance, scalability and cloud costs

• Establish data governance, quality, security and compliance standards

• Mentor and develop Data Engineering teams

• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity

Ideal Candidate

10+ years of Data Engineering experience

5+ years of leadership experience

Proven enterprise data transformation experience

Strong stakeholder and delivery governance skills

Experience leading distributed / multi-vendor teams

Strong balance of technical leadership and people management

Nice to Have: Azure Certifications | Power BI | MLOps | AI / GenAI | Azure Functions | Enterprise APIs
