Our client

A leading Australian mining company with a strong track record delivering large-scale mining assets and infrastructure. With an active pipeline and a growing portfolio, they wish to appoint a Principal to their Corporate Development team.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Head of Corporate Development, you will lead complex transactions from origination through to completion. You will shape deal strategy, lead a small team, and own outcomes end to end.

Key responsibilities include:

• Originate opportunities through market engagement, industry networks, and global M&A activity
• Structure complex transactions to unlock value and allocate risk across counterparties
• Direct financial modelling, valuation, and capital structuring
• Present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee, CEO, and Executive Leadership
• Lead negotiations through to financial close
• Mentor and develop a small team of junior professionals

About You

• Bachelor’s degree; Commerce, Economics, Business, Law or Engineering etc.
• Post graduate qualification (or studying towards): CA, CFA, MBA or Master of Applied Finance etc.
• Previous corporate development, M&A, or transaction advisory experience, ideally within resources
• Proven track record managing complex transactions end-to-end
• Excellent financial modelling, valuation, and structuring skills
• Strong commercial judgement, with the confidence to challenge assumptions
