Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this critical leadership role is accountable for developing and executing GMA's technical services strategy across its global mining, processing, and exploration portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity for a senior leader with deep technical expertise and a proven track record in the mineral sands industry to influence strategy, optimise operational performance, govern global exploration and deliver operational projects.

About The Role

As General Manager Global Technical Services, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across exploration, project delivery, quality assurance, and technical governance.

The role has significant influence across GMA's global operations, requiring an individual who can effectively engage with executive leaders, including Board members, operational teams, contractors, consultants, regulators, to achieve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the global technical services team across operational improvements, project delivery, resource planning and quality assurance.
• Drive operational improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, product quality, reliability and cost performance.
• Provide technical oversight for project development, plant upgrades and capital improvement programs.
• Lead resource evaluation and development activities across existing and future mineral deposits.
• Support technical due diligence and evaluation of new opportunities and projects.
• Develop and implement technical strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations to the Executive Team and Board on technical and operational matters.

We are seeking a highly credible technical leader with:

• Extensive experience within the mineral sands industry, including a strong understanding of mineral sands mining, processing and resource development.
• Process engineering expertise, with demonstrated success delivering plant optimisation, process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
• Proven experience leading large-scale technical projects, plant upgrades and engineering improvement programs.
• Deep understanding of mineral processing engineering and the delivery of plant construction and expansion projects.
• Experience operating at a senior leadership level
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing capital expenditure projects and budgets.

• Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively across Board, executive, operational levels and with external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary and remote teams within a matrix structure.
• Proven experience in translating technological production improvements, based on current technology into respective production planning
• Exceptional communication, influencing and collaboration capabilities.
• A track record of driving organisational improvement through strong leadership and cultural alignment.
• Experience working across multicultural and international operating environments.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mineral Processing, Process Engineering, Metallurgy or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
• Additional qualifications in mining, engineering, project management or related disciplines will be advantageous.
