Austcorp Executive are partnering with a fast-growing business in the specialty metals and alloys sector. They source, recycle, and supply high-value metals to different specialty industries across Australia. Backed by a global network, they combine technical expertise with a dynamic, relationship-driven approach to the marketplace.

With rapid growth in Australia, they’re looking for a technically minded Business Development Executive. You’ll drive the identification, acquisition, and supply of sought-after specialty metals across Australia.

No prior experience is required - this role is designed to train and develop ambitious, technically minded professionals into commercial experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and build strong relationships with suppliers of specialty metals and scrap materials.
  • Monitor market pricing and trends to secure high-value opportunities.
  • Support chemical processing and trading activities as your skills develop.
  • Expand the supplier network and develop a personal book of business.
  • Travel regularly across Australia to meet suppliers (approx. 1 trip/month), with potential international travel in the future.
  • Work closely with both local and international teams, learning business development, negotiation, and trading skills on the job.

About you

  • Previous experience in a Purchasing, Procurement, Business Development or Engineering (Highly Regarded)
  • Background in Chemical or Materials Engineering (Highly Regarded)
  • Ambition, drive, and a desire to learn and grow
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise, and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident speaking with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel and build relationships face-to-face
