Australian Dairy Farmers (ADF) is seeking applications from experienced governance professionals for the position of Independent Director on its Board.

As the national representative body for Australia's dairy farmers, ADF provides leadership on policy, advocacy and industry issues that shape the future of dairy farming across the country. This is an opportunity to contribute your governance expertise to an organisation representing one of Australia's third largest agricultural sector.

About the role

As an Independent Director, you will work alongside industry-elected directors to provide strategic oversight, strong governance and objective guidance to support the organisation's long-term success.

The Board is responsible for setting ADF's strategic direction, overseeing organisational performance and ensuring the organisation effectively represents the interests of Australian dairy farmers.

About you

We are seeking candidates who can contribute the following:

  • High level strategy and governance expertise
  • Commercial/Government/ Advocacy/ Member Organisation/Other relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management

Additional, desirable skills and attributes:

  • Previous board experience
  • Policy development
  • Advocacy or lobbying
  • Accounting or Financial Management experience

Importantly, there is no requirement to be engaged in dairy farming or to be a member of a State Dairy Farmer Organisation to be eligible for this position.
