About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Operations Support Graduate to join a dynamic IT Operations team based in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise technology environments while developing core skills across infrastructure, networking, monitoring, incident management, and IT service operations.

Working closely with experienced operations and support professionals, you will assist in maintaining system availability, monitoring critical services, resolving operational issues, and ensuring a high level of service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology, eager to learn, and looking to establish a long-term career in IT Operations and Infrastructure Support.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor IT infrastructure, systems, applications, and networks to ensure operational stability.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and escalate technical incidents and service issues as required.
• Support daily operational activities across server, network, database, and storage environments.
• Assist with incident, problem, and service request management processes.
• Provide first-level technical support to end users and stakeholders.
• Utilise monitoring and observability tools to identify potential issues before they impact services.
• Maintain accurate records within ticketing and service management systems.
• Assist with system health checks, maintenance activities, and operational reporting.
• Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and operational knowledge articles.
• Work collaboratively with infrastructure, security, and application support teams.
• Follow established operational processes, standards, and ITIL best practices.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours support arrangements where required.

Required Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, and enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and IP networking technologies.
• Awareness of IT security principles and best practices.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Zabbix, or similar solutions.
• Familiarity with ticketing and incident management platforms such as Jira, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or similar.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to monitor systems and identify operational issues.
• Understanding of ITIL principles and service management practices.

Essential Requirements

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in IT Operations, Infrastructure Support, or Service Management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
