An integrity and improvement focused leader is sought to head the Office of the Inspector of Custodial Services.

The Office of the Inspector of Custodial Services (the Office) is an independent statutory body with a strong focus on performance standards in custodial facilities and the rights of people in custody.

The Office conduct regular inspections and reviews of prisons, work camps, court custody centres and the detention centres holding young people. The Office also manages and supports the Independent Visitor Service.

To be successful in this position you will have a proven ability to analyse complex issues objectively and arrive at impartial conclusions which are supported by relevant and evidence-based research. You understand the important role of the Office in promoting and providing transparency and accountability across places of custody and identifying ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the custodial system.

This is a fixed term position for up to 7 years with a competitive remuneration package, including a salary of $286,981, a motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance, plus superannuation.
