The Organisation

Western Australian Treasury Corporation (WATC) is the State's central financial services provider, delivering funding, treasury, investment, risk management and advisory solutions to more than 150 government sector clients. As WATC celebrates 40 years of service, it continues to play a critical role in supporting the financial sustainability and prosperity of Western Australia.

The Position

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Client Services is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for leading WATC's client strategy, Corporate Treasury Services and Advisory Services functions. The role is accountable for strengthening relationships across a diverse stakeholder group and ensuring WATC delivers meaningful financial, commercial and whole-of-State outcomes.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and execute WATC's client strategy and service model.
  • Build trusted executive relationships across the Western Australian government sector.
  • Drive the performance and growth of Corporate Treasury Services and Advisory Services.
  • Anticipate emerging financial, commercial and policy challenges and position WATC as a strategic partner to clients.
  • Provide executive leadership across strategy, governance, risk, performance and culture.
  • Lead a high-performing team and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

About You

You are a strategic and influential leader with experience operating in complex financial, treasury, advisory, government or commercial environments.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Strong executive leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of public sector governance, financial management or related operating environments.
  • Well-developed commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to influence complex decisions.
  • Experience leading organisational change, operating model development and high-performing teams.
  • A collaborative and values-driven leadership style underpinned by integrity, partnership and accountability.

Relevant tertiary qualifications are required, with postgraduate qualifications viewed favourably.
