The Opportunity

An exciting leadership opportunity exists for an experienced Rostering Systems professional to lead a specialist team responsible for the management, optimisation and enhancement of critical rostering systems. Reporting to the Head of Payroll Systems, this role will oversee the operational performance of workforce management platforms while driving system improvements, compliance outcomes and stakeholder engagement initiatives. This is a highly visible position that works across Payroll, People & Culture, Finance, Technology and operational business units to ensure rostering solutions effectively support workforce planning and payroll integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Rostering Systems professionals, promoting a culture of service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance and optimisation of workforce management and rostering systems.
  • Coordinate testing and implementation activities relating to legislative, payroll, Fair Work and Enterprise Agreement changes.
  • Manage system upgrades, enhancements, integrations and automation initiatives.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Payroll, People & Culture, Finance, Technology and operational teams to deliver effective system outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors and technology partners.
  • Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, legislation and organisational policies through robust system governance.
  • Support reporting, analytics and workforce insights activities to drive informed decision-making.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a hands-on systems leader with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a proven ability to deliver workforce technology outcomes within a complex operational environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience within rostering, workforce management, payroll systems or HR technology functions.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, industrial instruments and enterprise bargaining frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing system implementations, upgrades and change initiatives.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on process improvement and data integrity.
  • Experience working with rostering or workforce management systems.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capability.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
