About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join a major global resources organisation on an initial 12-month contract.

This position will suit a payroll professional with strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation, who is confident investigating complex payroll matters and ensuring accurate, compliant payroll outcomes.

As the Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll services for both local and expatriate employees.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Research, analyse and resolve payroll, taxation and superannuation matters for local and expatriate employees.
  • Review and validate payroll calculations to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and company requirements.
  • Investigate payroll discrepancies and provide accurate, timely resolutions.
  • Monitor changes to taxation, payroll legislation and regulatory requirements and recommend appropriate updates to payroll processes.
  • Support the implementation of payroll, taxation and legislative changes.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of payroll systems and employee payroll data.
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with company policies, legislative requirements and mandatory professional reporting obligations.
  • Provide payroll analysis and reporting as required.
  • Support payroll-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a key point of contact in the coordination and support of payroll audits.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll queries and ensure effective payroll outcomes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Strong previous experience in a payroll, payroll analyst or closely related position.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Good understanding of Australian taxation and superannuation requirements as they relate to payroll.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting payroll for a large or complex organisation.
  • Previous exposure to payroll for expatriate employees.
  • Experience supporting payroll audits or payroll-related projects.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently
