The Role

AESM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Fire Panel Technician to join our growing Western Australian operations.

This position is suited to a highly skilled fire industry professional with extensive experience in fire detection and Emergency Warning & Intercommunication Systems (EWIS). As the Lead Fire Panel Technician, you will provide technical mentoring across service, maintenance, fault-finding, commissioning and project activities while supporting and mentoring junior technicians.

Working closely with the Service Manager and clients across commercial, industrial and critical infrastructure sites, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant fire protection solutions. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability diagnose and resolve complex system faults

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertake advanced fault finding, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of fire detection systems
  • Perform repairs, upgrades and maintenance of EWIS and occupant warning systems
  • Conduct testing, commissioning and verification of fire alarm systems
  • Interpret system drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • Identify and resolve complex technical faults across multiple fire panel platforms
  • Complete service reports, defect reports and maintenance documentation accurately and on time
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with Australian Standards, client requirements and company procedures
  • Liaise professionally with clients, consultants and contractors
  • Provide mentoring, technical guidance and support to junior technicians
  • Participate in after-hours emergency call-outs as required
  • Promote a strong safety culture and commitment to WHS compliance

We're looking for a highly experienced fire technician with a collaborative approach, advanced technical knowledge, and a genuine commitment for delivering exceptional customer service.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience working on fire detection and EWIS systems
  • Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of major fire panel and warning system manufacturers.
  • Strong understanding of AS 1670, AS 1851 and relevant Australian Standards
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Current Driver's Licence
