SEO Strategist

SEO & GEO Specialist

Melbourne (hybrid) | Digital marketing agency

The agency

Our client is a Melbourne performance marketing agency working with Australian businesses across construction, legal and professional services. They run paid media and search side by side, with a strong focus on how brands show up in AI search. It's a small senior team where you work directly with the founder and own your accounts.

The role

You'll work alongside the SEO lead and founder, delivering SEO campaigns and leading the agency's GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) work. It suits someone with two to three years of agency SEO behind them who wants to build real depth in AI search.

What you'll do

• Deliver technical, on-page and content SEO across a portfolio of clients
• Build and implement GEO strategies that grow client visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews
• Lead outreach and digital PR to secure citations, brand mentions and quality backlinks
• Run technical SEO and GEO audits covering crawlability, indexing, structured data, entity optimisation and site architecture
• Report on SEO and AI search performance, including AI referral traffic and citation tracking
• Present strategy and results to clients, linking search visibility to leads, enquiries and revenue

What you'll bring

• Two to three years of SEO experience in a digital marketing agency
• Solid technical SEO, on-page, keyword research, content and link building skills
• A working understanding of GEO, with examples of what you changed and how you measured it
• Experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or SEMrush and Looker Studio
• Confident client communication and the organisation to manage several accounts at once
