DataCenter Engineer || 3-6 Months Contract Opportunity (High possibility of Conversion to Permanent) || $350-420/Day Plus Super

Role: Data Center Engineer

Location: Melbourne, VIC

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support critical data centre operations. You will be responsible for hardware installations, troubleshooting, cabling, maintenance, and ensuring the reliability of server and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair server and network hardware issues.
• Perform rack installations, cabling, and equipment maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain server, storage, networking, power, and cooling infrastructure.
• Resolve technical incidents and support operational improvements.
• Participate in on-call and rotating shift coverage.

Skills & Experience

• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, DHCP, routers, switches, fibre, RJ45).
• Linux knowledge gained through work, study, or personal projects.
• Experience in data centres, infrastructure support, MSPs, or hands-on IT environments is highly regarded.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
