Assistant Project Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join an established Build to Rent developer and investment business, with projects in Scarborough and Subiaco.

We’re looking for a hands-on, practical and commercially minded person who understands construction and is looking to take the next step in their project management career.

Ideally, you’ll currently be working for a contractor in a Project Coordinator or Site Engineer capacity, preferably with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder and exposure to residential or multi-residential projects. You’ll have a strong understanding of site operations, stakeholder coordination and project delivery, along with a desire to broaden your experience within a developer environment.

Most importantly, you'll enjoy being on site, working with builders, subcontractors and consultants, solving problems and getting involved in the day-to-day delivery of projects.

The Role

Working closely with the Project Manager and development team, you’ll be involved in:

• Site inspections, quality and progress monitoring
• Coordinating builders, subcontractors and consultants
• Reviewing drawings, documentation and programmes
• Assisting with variations, costs and project reporting
• Managing project tasks, documentation and meetings
• Defects, completion and handover
• Supporting the Project Manager across the full project lifecycle

This is not a desk-based role. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, inquisitive and willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved.

About You

You'll ideally have experience working for a commercial or residential contractor as a Project Coordinator, Site Engineer or Assistant Project Manager, with a solid understanding of construction delivery and project controls. Experience on residential, Build to Rent, apartments or mixed-use developments will be highly regarded.
