Hydra Search is partnering with a leading technology business developing advanced software solutions across engineering, cloud platforms, and large-scale data.

They are looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join a team solving complex data engineering challenges at scale.

About the opportunity

• Design and build large-scale data ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Keep multiple data sources and representations synchronised as data continuously changes.
• Build robust systems for data transformation, processing, and distribution.
• Contribute to scalable, cloud-native data architecture within AWS.
• Help build an exciting new data platform from the ground up.
• Work across databases, distributed systems, streaming architectures, and data services.
• Solve complex challenges around data consistency, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Work with technologies including AWS, Kafka, Postgres, OpenSearch, Redshift, and Spark/Databricks.

About you

• Strong experience in data engineering and large-scale data management.
• Proven experience building production-grade data ingestion, transformation, and synchronisation pipelines.
• Experience keeping multiple data sources or representations consistent as underlying data changes.
• Understanding of CDC, event-driven architectures, streaming, or data replication.
• Strong software engineering skills and experience building reliable, scalable production systems.
• Experience with AWS, distributed data architectures, and high-volume data processing.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data integrity, and system performance.
• Spatial or geospatial experience is a bonus, not essential.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative Agile engineering environment.
