Senior Civil Designer - Tailings

The Role

With an extensive pipeline of upcoming works, we are seeking applications from Civil Designers to join our Perth team. The role offers the opportunity to progress your career within a supportive technical environment, surrounded by experienced professionals who value collaboration and mentoring.

Reporting to the Lead Technician, the Senior Civil Designer will be responsible for the preparation and development of 3D CAD models and detailed design drawings for a range of civil infrastructure projects. The role involves supporting the design process from concept through to construction documentation, with a strong focus on earthworks-related elements including tailings dams, water dams, drainage structures, excavations, and roads. Proficiency in Autodesk software, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D, is essential.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will be customer service oriented with a high regard for quality. You should be proficient in using Autodesk design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, along with standard Microsoft products. A keen eye for detail and any experience in 3D rendering and Graphic Design is highly desirable.

To be successful in the role you will need:

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience working on tailings/mine waste related projects locally or internationally;
• Relevant tertiary qualifications;
• A strong proficiency of 3-Dimensional design/thinking;
• Ability to use LiDAR & Survey data;
• Strong drafting skills;
• An ability to model earthworks using grading & corridor techniques;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Solid analytical and problem solving skills;
• Excellent communication and reporting skills;
• Experience working within a technical consulting environment (desirable).
