The Role

You will take ownership of a high-volume litigation practice, managing matters end-to-end (predominantly non-defended), while remaining involved in complex or escalated files.

This position offers a balance of hands-on legal work, strategic input, and oversight, without the pressures of billable hours or heavy people management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a busy litigation caseload from start to finish
• Take responsibility for complex or high-priority matters
• Ensure all work is delivered in line with compliance and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to improving processes, systems, and workflows
• Provide guidance and support to junior staff when required
• Take ownership of quality, outcomes, and workflow without billable pressures

About You

This role will suit a technically strong Associate or Senior Associate seeking autonomy, responsibility, and exposure to high-quality legal work.

You will bring

• Solid litigation experience across Australian jurisdictions
• Exposure to financial services, collections, or high-volume litigation (preferred)
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Some experience guiding junior staff or mentoring

Requirements

• Unrestricted Australian practising certificate
• Understanding of compliance and regulatory obligations
• Experience with legal systems (Lexis Affinity advantageous)
