Muzariri Penny Lawyers is a young, Melbourne-based commercial law firm with a reputation for providing high‑quality, pragmatic advice across Banking & Finance, Corporate & Commercial, Property & Development, and Wealth Management. We partner closely with clients ranging from individuals and families to private businesses across various industries.

We are currently seeking a commercial lawyer (2–3 years PAE) to join our growing team and work directly alongside Peter Muzariri, Co-Founder and Partner, and Head of our Banking & Finance and Wealth Management practices.

This role will initially be part-time for 3 days per week, with potential to increase to a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

• General banking and finance work, including insolvency advice
• Purchase and sale of businesses, corporate and commercial agreements, corporate and commercial advice, and corporate governance and compliance
• Setting up family trusts, structuring, self-managed superannuation funds, investment management, and wealth management
• General administrative and practice management tasks

About You

• 2–3 years’ post‑admission experience in a commercial law firm (with exposure to banking and finance, corporate and commercial, or tax being highly regarded)
• Proven strength in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and legal documents
• Commercial mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Desire to work collaboratively in a boutique, growth‑oriented firm environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in building long-term client relationships
• Curiosity about how a law firm runs, and assisting in day-to-day firm matters
