Legal Assistant – Plaintiff Litigation

Medical Negligence / Public Liability

Melbourne CBD | Full Time (4 days considered) | Hybrid flexibility

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to support the day-to-day management of complex litigation matters across medical negligence and public liability claims.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing litigation files and maintaining accurate electronic records

• Monitoring court timetables, deadlines and critical dates

• Preparing court documents, affidavits, correspondence and briefs

• Filing documents and liaising with courts and counsel

• Coordinating subpoenas and document inspections

• Communicating with clients, families and external stakeholders

• Assisting with settlements, invoices and disbursements

• Supporting the Principal Lawyer with chronologies, file notes and matter preparation

About You

You are organised, detail-oriented and take pride in producing high-quality work. You bring:

Experience in legal administration or litigation support

Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

The ability to manage competing priorities calmly and efficiently

A professional and empathetic communication style

Experience in plaintiff personal injury litigation is highly regarded, but not essential.
