Operations Project Manager

• Location: Preston, VIC 3072 | Hybrid
• $58.18ph - $82.29ph including super
• Local government environment in Melbourne’s north.

This is a hands-on Project Manager opportunity supporting waste service initiatives through to implementation. You will work closely with subject matter experts and internal stakeholder groups to keep momentum, tighten plans and drive comms, training and process changes that actually stick.

Who you will be working with

You will report to the Coordinator, Operations Management and partner with key administration, customer and service teams, plus SMEs across the business to move multiple workstreams forward.

Duties and responsibilities include

• Drive project plans, milestones and practical delivery across multiple workstreams
• Coordinate stakeholders across admin, customer and service teams to keep delivery moving
• Review and uplift project documentation, implementation plans and communications
• Support change activities including training, communications and feedback loops
• Provide concise updates and reporting to key stakeholders and leaders
• Help translate policy and guidelines into workable operational procedures

We are looking for someone with

• General project management experience with a strong bias to implementation and outcomes
• Highly desirable: experience in local government and/or waste services (kerbside waste, waste management plans, audits or related programs)
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills - able to collaborate, influence and keep people aligned
• Strong written capability (briefs, comms, meeting notes, updates)
• Confidence working with data, spotting trends and turning insights into actions
• A practical, proactive style - comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done
