Water Unit Manager

A purpose-driven organisation is seeking a Manager, Water Sciences to lead a specialist team delivering water and wastewater monitoring, modelling, assessment and reporting across Victoria. This is a senior role for an experienced people leader who can drive high performance, continuous improvement and strong stakeholder partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Water Sciences team
• Oversee water monitoring programs and provide expert scientific/engineering advice for complex decisions
• Drive evidence-based, risk-focused approaches and process improvement
• Build partnerships across government, industry and community
• Support compliance/enforcement through analysis of scientific evidence and expert opinions

About You

• Degree (or post-grad) in applied science/environmental engineering (or equivalent); water specialisation preferred
• Proven senior leadership experience leading teams through change
• Strong expertise in water pollution and environmental risk assessment
• Excellent communication skills (able to translate technical information for varied audiences)
