About Our Client

Our client is a listed Australian company operating at the cutting edge of science within its specialised area. It's mission is to optimize and support the development of new therapeutics and provide insights in clinical care. It services clients in a number of OS markets, including the US, and working with leading-edge research in biopharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. Running an almost virtual office globally, with offices in locations including Melbourne and teams around the world, our client offers a rare chance to work mostly from home and have true flexibility.

This Legal Counsel Role

Reporting to the General Counsel, as part of its nimble and high calibre legal team, you will enjoy contributing legally and commercially to the business as you provide high quality, efficient and considered legal services. With a mix of work on offer including drafting and negotiating a range of contracts, working collaboratively with internal business partners and managing contracts across their entire lifecycle, you will use your honed drafting skills, attention to detail and commerciality to assist the business. Broader work on offer will include legal technology and process improvement projects, governance, regulatory, data and privacy.

About You

We are looking for a passionate team player who aligns with our client's values and culture, takes pride in their unique contributions, and can challenge the status quo with disruptive thinking. Suited to an early riser to fit in sometimes with late afternoon meetings held in US, this role will be a fit for a capable commercial lawyer with good drafting skills, exposure to areas such as general commercial, IT, IP or perhaps even research/clinical trials. You will be well trained and working in a quality in-house team or commercial law firm, have a stable CV, and enjoy working autonomously with support.

The Benefits

A mostly remote role, with access to an office in Melbourne our client offers a rare chance to work with significant flexibility in an innovative, successful, global business. Offering a good package plus bonus, autonomy and responsibility, and support for long term career development, our client takes its people development seriously and aims to reward them long term.
