Wonder Kidz
We're Hiring: Speech Pathologist (Casual) | Wonder Kidz
North Melbourne, VIC
Casual Position (with opportunity for ongoing employment)
Neuroaffirming | Child-Led | Community-Based | Flexible
At Wonder Kidz, we believe communication is more than words—it's connection, belonging, self-expression, and being understood.
We're looking for a passionate Speech Pathologist who values a child-led, strengths-based, collaborative, and naturalistic approach to supporting neurodiverse children and young people. This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful therapy in real-life environments where communication naturally happens—at home, in the community, during social programs, and through authentic relationships.
Who We Are
Wonder Kidz is a community where children are celebrated for who they are, not whom they are expected to be.
Being – Supporting children to be authentically themselves.
Belonging – Creating safe, inclusive spaces where children feel accepted and connected.
Becoming – Empowering children to build confidence, independence, communication, and meaningful life skills at their own pace.
Through social programs, camps, community access, and therapeutic supports, we help children and young people thrive in environments that feel safe, joyful, and empowering.
What Makes This Role Different?
At Wonder Kidz, communication goals aren't confined to a therapy room.
You might be:
- Supporting a child to advocate for themselves during a community outing
- Building social communication skills through real friendships and group experiences
- Helping children develop confidence using AAC in meaningful everyday situations
- Coaching families, educators, and support teams to create communication-rich environments
- Designing innovative social communication programs that blend therapy with fun, connection, and participation
- Working alongside occupational therapists, support workers, families, and educators to create holistic outcomes for each child
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Is a qualified Speech Pathologist with SPA membership or eligibility
Has experience supporting neurodiverse children and young people
Embraces neuroaffirming and strengths-based practice
Has experience or interest in AAC, social communication, and functional communication supports
Values collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
Enjoys thinking creatively and working beyond traditional therapy settings
Is available for weekend work and community-based supports
What We Offer
Opportunity to help shape and grow our new speech pathology services
A supportive, values-driven and collaborative team culture
Regular supervision and professional development opportunities
Flexible work across clinic, home, school, and community environments
The chance to create genuine impact in the lives of children and families
A workplace where connection, belonging, creativity, and child-led practice are celebrated every day
Why Join Wonder Kidz?
We're not looking for someone to deliver therapy.
We're looking for someone who believes that every child deserves to be heard, understood, accepted, and empowered to communicate in their own way.
If you're passionate about helping children Be, Belong, and Become, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply by sending your CV and cover letter to ***email_hidden***
